Most executive visibility firms begin with content.
Medalie Executive Advisory begins with leadership.
Executive Thought Leadership, Ghostwriting & Strategic Positioning for CEOs and Senior Leaders
We do not teach executives how to lead. We help accomplished CEOs, founders, board directors and senior leaders transform the experience and judgment they have already earned into credible thought leadership and a distinctive public voice.
For more than three decades, Sam Medalie worked with senior executives. His executive search background gave him a distinctive perspective on how exceptional leaders think, communicate, make decisions, build organizations and create long-term value.
Today, Medalie Executive Advisory provides executive thought leadership, strategic positioning and CEO ghostwriting services that help accomplished leaders turn decades of experience, hard-earned judgment and original perspective into a credible public voice.
Through thoughtful positioning, strategic ghostwriting and long-form executive content, the firm helps leaders strengthen influence, build trusted relationships and attract the right opportunities without relying on generic or borrowed voices.
We work with leaders whose reputations were built in boardrooms, operating rooms, courtrooms, trading floors and executive suites—not through attention for attention’s sake.
Most executives spend decades earning expertise.
Few become known beyond the rooms where they built it.
We help close that gap.

Hi Sam,
I really like your website. It’s unique and easy to read. I like the way you explain how you work. In my experience, great leaders differentiate themselves from good leaders by how they portray themselves, and the service you provide can help them enhance that skill. Working with someone like your firm makes all the difference.
I think you will do very well.
I look forward to hearing more and staying in touch.
Best regards,
Carolyn Wingard

Great. It’s much better. Now you are selling your experience, why it’s relevant and why it’s different. That’s how you build YOUR brand.

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Manali on a ghostwriting project, which far exceeded my expectations and turned my writing journey into a wonderful experience. It was evident from the start of this collaboration that I had stumbled upon something genuinely exceptional. She has an unusual capacity to go deep into your head and extract the essence of your ideas, bringing them to life with remarkable precision on the page. Not only is she a fantastic writer, but her professionalism and passion for her art are second to none. Throughout the process, she paid close attention to detail, ensuring that every sentence was properly composed and every chapter flowed well. She took the time to comprehend my concept and fully invest in my project, and her enthusiasm was evident in her work.”
James R
“Working with Manali was such a pleasure. Not only does she produce excellent, high quality work, but she is also communicative, punctual, and takes the work into her own hands. The spin that she put on the work really helped my business and her ability to do it with limited instruction took a lot of pressure off me.”

I just want to thank you for the outstanding work you did in finding and helping us hire our new President. As you know, we needed another key dealmaker, and someone who is a proven leader.
I was particularly impressed with the quality of the candidates that you brought us, giving us the opportunity to select from among only top tier choices. The candidate that we eventually chose was someone we had previously thought to be unattainable.
As I am sure you know, the key to a successful enterprise is its people. Thank you so much for helping us to ensure that we hire only the best. I know the quality of your work and would be happy to serve as a reference.

I want to say, "Thank you," for helping me to find the job. After my review, I got the salary increase you negotiated, and it made me very happy. Working at my new company is a challenging experience. Thank you again. God bless you.
Brad N.
We are very busy and the key senior employees you retained for marketing, finance, and production, to manage our new website and to assist in getting licensing and content for the site, have added great value to the entire company's effort. Without your dedicated assistance, I would not have been able to sustain our "quick-paced" effort.

It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Sam Medalie.
I was first introduced to Sam several years ago. At that time, we were searching for a CFO.
We had an internal candidate we were considering but wanted to conduct a parallel search outside the firm to convince the partnership that we were hiring the best possible candidate. I subsequently met with several "top" search agencies. They outlined their project plan and cost structure. In the meanwhile, I received a phone call from Sam and I explained the situation.
Simply put, in the time the other firms were preparing their proposals, Sam had already sent me several viable candidates. He had already conducted research, screened, and interviewed candidates, each of whom were top-notch and met our success criteria very well. Further, they were well prepared in terms of understanding our position expectations and culture.
Our top two (and only) external candidates came from Sam.
Sam Medalie's recruiting work was the finest effort I have ever experienced in such a short time frame. Sam is results-oriented, creative, resourceful, and a fine representative for any firm.

Frequently Asked Questions About Executive Thought Leadership and CEO Ghostwriting
What are executive thought leadership services?
Executive thought leadership services help CEOs, founders, board directors and senior leaders turn their experience, judgment and original ideas into clear, credible communication. Services may include strategic positioning, executive ghostwriting, articles, LinkedIn content, speeches, reports, white papers and long-form thought leadership designed to strengthen trust, influence and visibility with the right audience.
What does a CEO ghostwriter do?
A CEO ghostwriter works closely with a chief executive to understand their ideas, experiences, leadership philosophy and natural communication style. The ghostwriter then develops articles, LinkedIn posts, speeches, essays, reports and other executive content in the CEO’s authentic voice, while the executive retains ownership and final approval.
How is executive thought leadership different from personal branding?
Personal branding often focuses broadly on an individual’s visibility, reputation and professional image. Executive thought leadership focuses more specifically on the quality of a leader’s ideas, judgment, experience and point of view. The goal is not visibility for its own sake, but credible communication that helps the right people understand how the executive thinks, leads and creates value.
Who are your executive ghostwriting services designed for?
Medalie Executive Advisory works with accomplished CEOs, founders, board directors, private equity and venture capital leaders, healthcare executives, managing partners, law-firm leaders and senior corporate executives. The service is best suited to leaders with meaningful experience and original ideas who want a clearer public voice but may not have the time or writing support to communicate consistently.
How do you capture an executive’s authentic voice?
The process begins with direct conversations and structured interviews focused on the executive’s experiences, leadership philosophy, decision-making style and communication preferences. Existing speeches, articles, presentations and other materials may also be reviewed. Drafts are refined collaboratively until the writing feels natural, credible and unmistakably aligned with the executive’s voice—without generic templates or borrowed language.
What types of content do you create for senior leaders?
Content may include executive articles, opinion pieces, LinkedIn thought leadership, white papers, reports, leadership essays, strategic communications and long-form book or memoir projects. Each piece is developed around the executive’s objectives, audience, expertise and authentic point of view rather than a generic content calendar.
How much time does an executive need to contribute?
The process is designed around the demanding schedules of CEOs and senior leaders. Most executive involvement comes through focused interviews, sharing relevant source materials and reviewing important drafts. The exact time commitment depends on the engagement, but the process is structured to capture valuable insight efficiently without creating an unnecessary burden.
Are executive ghostwriting engagements confidential?
Yes, subject to the terms established for each engagement. Confidentiality and discretion are central to executive ghostwriting and advisory work. At the beginning of each engagement, the parties can agree on the scope, approval process, attribution, access to sensitive information and any specific confidentiality requirements. Nothing is published without the executive’s review and approval.
How long does it take to build meaningful executive visibility?
Meaningful executive visibility is built over time rather than through a single article or post. The timeline depends on the executive’s starting point, objectives, audience, publishing frequency and existing professional network. Clear positioning, valuable ideas and consistent communication can gradually build recognition, credibility and trust with the people who matter most.
How is executive thought leadership success measured?
Success is measured through business-relevant outcomes rather than vanity metrics alone. Indicators may include engagement from the intended audience, relevant inbound conversations, referrals, speaking or media invitations, stronger professional relationships, website enquiries, search visibility and whether key stakeholders better understand the executive’s expertise, leadership philosophy and point of view.
